# ToneDen is shutting down-FAQs

On **December 1, 2026**, we're shutting down the standalone ToneDen platform ([toneden.io](http://toneden.io)). This article covers what's changing, what to do before then, and what happens to your ad campaigns, smart links, data, and subscription.<br>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Using ToneDen through Eventbrite?** Nothing changes for you. Your advertising tools stay available at [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) and in [Eventbrite's Marketing tools](https://app.notion.com/p/abuse-eventbrite-com-solutions-brainstorm-39576c7c65828003be7bf9583ad1ae08?pvs=21). ### What's happening?

We're decommissioning the standalone ToneDen platform at [toneden.io](http://toneden.io), effective December 1, 2026. Until then, you'll keep full access to your account, campaigns, and data.

#### Who is affected?

Everyone with a [toneden.io](http://toneden.io) account, whether you sign in with Facebook, Google, or email and password.

ToneDen Accounts connected to Eventbrite are **not** affected and will continue to be accessible through [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) and your [Eventbrite Marketing Workspace](https://www.eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing). That includes anyone exclusively using ToneDen at [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) or [Eventbrite's Marketing tools](https://www.eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing).

#### Why is ToneDen shutting down?

We've decided to discontinue the standalone ToneDen platform. Thank you for letting us help you reach your fans and promote your releases and events.

#### Can I keep using ToneDen until November 30?

Yes. You can keep logging in and managing your campaigns, links, and data until November 30.

#### Is there a replacement for ToneDen?

There's no direct ToneDen replacement. If you sell tickets on Eventbrite, you can run Facebook and Instagram ads from Eventbrite's Marketing tools at [eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing](http://eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing) or [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) .

#### What about Zapier and the ToneDen API?

Zapier connections and API access stop working on December 1.

### Ad campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, and Google)

#### What happens to my running campaigns on December 1?

Your campaigns stay exactly as they are on December 1. ToneDen stops all automation on them, including budget optimization and switching ads between active and paused.

Your campaigns live in your own Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads accounts. That means you should manage them there.

#### Will my campaigns stop spending money?

**No, not automatically.** A campaign that's active on December 1 keeps running and spending its budget until you change it. If you don't want a campaign to keep running, pause it or set an end date in Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads.

#### How do I manage my campaigns after ToneDen shuts down?

* **Facebook and Instagram:** open [Meta Ads Manager](https://adsmanager.facebook.com/) and select the ad account you connected to ToneDen. Your campaigns appear there under the same names. You can edit budgets, change end dates, and pause or delete them.
* **Google:** open [Google Ads](https://ads.google.com/) and select the account you connected to ToneDen.

#### What happens to my Spotify Growth, Instagram Growth, and other Playbook campaigns?

Playbooks and ToneDen's campaign budget optimization stop on December 1. The ads they created stay in your Meta or Google account in their current state, like any other campaign. Review them before December 1 and pause anything you don't want to keep running.

#### Will I lose my campaign results?

Your ToneDen dashboards won't be available after December 1, so save any reports you want to keep before then. Your ads ran in your own Meta and Google accounts, so their performance history and existing optimization stays in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.

#### Does ToneDen hold any of my ad budget?

No. Meta and Google bill your ad spend directly. ToneDen has never held any of your campaign budget, so there's no ad spend to refund.

#### Will ToneDen still have access to my ad accounts after December 1?

If you’d like to remove ToneDen’s access to your campaigns you can:

* **Meta:** go to your Facebook settings, then [Business Integrations](https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=business_tools), and remove ToneDen.
* **Google:** go to your Google Account, then Security, then Third-party apps & services, and remove ToneDen.

#### What happens to my Meta pixel or dataset?

Your Meta pixels and datasets belong to your Meta Business account, not to ToneDen, so they stay where they are.

### Smart links, pre-saves, social unlocks, and contests

#### What happens to my smart links?

All ToneDen smart links stop working on December 1, 2026. That includes FanLinks, pre-save links, TourLinks, EventLinks, PodLinks, StreamLinks, BigLinks, and GiveLinks and links on custom domains. Landing pages for Eventbrite users who utilize smart links through [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) will not be affected.

#### What should I do about my smart links?

Before December 1, replace every ToneDen link you've shared, including:

* Social bios and link-in-bio pages
* Your website and email signatures
* Active ads and email campaigns
* Printed QR codes, posters, and merch

Find all your links under **Smart Links** in your ToneDen account.

#### I use a custom domain for my links. What do I need to do?

Links on your custom domain stop working on December 1. To reuse the domain, update or remove the DNS records that point to ToneDen at your domain registrar. That's the same place you set them up, for example GoDaddy or Namecheap.

#### What happens to pre-saves for releases coming out after December 1?

If your release date is after December 1, we recommend switching to another pre-save option. All pre-save smartlinks will no longer function.

#### What happens to my social unlocks and contests?

They stop working on December 1. If a contest is scheduled to end after that date, end it early and pick your winners before December 1. Download any entrant or fan data you need by **November 30** (see below).

### Your data and privacy

#### What data does ToneDen have about me?

Your account and profile details, your campaign and smart link data, and any fan contact information collected through your smart links, pre-saves, social unlocks, and contests.

#### How do I download a copy of my data?

See our Help Center for further instructions <https://toneden.gitbook.io/toneden-help-center/privacy-and-safety/delete-account-and-account-data>

#### I sign in with Facebook or Google. How do I download my data?

You can still download it by logging into your account and going to your

and selecting *View your data.*

#### What happens to my data after the shutdown?

After November 30, 2026, your ToneDen data is permanently deleted under our data retention practices. We may keep some records where the law requires it, such as billing and payment records.

#### Can I delete my account now instead of waiting?

Yes. See [Delete account and account data](https://toneden.gitbook.io/toneden-help-center/privacy-and-safety/delete-account-and-account-data). Download your data first, because deletion can't be undone.

#### I exported fan contacts into other tools. Does this affect them?

No. Contacts you've already exported, for example to your email marketing platform, stay in those tools. You remain responsible for handling them under applicable privacy laws.

#### I'm a fan and entered a ToneDen contest or pre-save. How do I remove my information?

Use **Single Click Opt-Out** on the [Privacy Portal](https://www.toneden.io/privacy-portal) or email <privacy@toneden.io>. Either way, all ToneDen data is permanently deleted after the shutdown.

### Billing and subscriptions

#### Will I get a refund?

If you've paid for a subscription that runs past December 1, 2026, we'll refund the unused part. Refunds will be issued December 1, and may take 5-10 business days to return to your original payment method.

#### Do I need to cancel my subscription?

You can cancel any time. See [Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription](https://toneden.gitbook.io/toneden-help-center/account-subscriptions-profiles-billing/upgrade-downgrade-or-cancel-your-subscription). All ToneDen subscriptions will be cancelled and prorated refunds issued automatically December 1.

### Eventbrite organizers ([eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) and Eventbrite Marketing)

#### I use ToneDen through Eventbrite. Am I affected?

No. If your account is connected to Eventbrite, your advertising tools stay available at [**eb.toneden.io**](http://eb.toneden.io) and [**eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing**](http://eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing). You can keep creating and managing campaigns exactly as you do today.

#### I got an email saying ToneDen is shutting down. Does it apply to me?

If your account is connected to Eventbrite, your account will not be affected. You can continue to manage your ad campaigns through your [Eventbrite Marketing Workspace](http://eventbrite.com/organizations/marketing) and [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io).

If you also have a standalone [toneden.io](http://toneden.io) account or profile that isn't connected to Eventbrite, the shutdown applies to that account.

#### How can I tell if my account is connected to Eventbrite?

ToneDen accounts with a connected Eventbrite account will see a banner that redirects you to [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) upon sign-in. If you're not sure, email <support@toneden.io>.

#### I usually sign in at [toneden.io](http://toneden.io) with my Eventbrite-connected account. What changes?

After December 1, [toneden.io](http://toneden.io) won't be available. Sign in at [**eb.toneden.io**](http://eb.toneden.io), or open **Marketing** in your Eventbrite account. We recommend updating your bookmarks now.

#### Will my Eventbrite ad campaigns be affected?

No. Campaigns created through [eb.toneden.io](http://eb.toneden.io) or Eventbrite Marketing keep running and are managed as they are today. Billing doesn't change either.

#### Do I need to download my data?

No. Eventbrite-connected accounts are being kept, so your data isn't deleted. You can still download a copy from the [Privacy Portal](https://www.toneden.io/privacy-portal) or your [Advanced Settings](https://eb.toneden.io/settings/advanced), if you'd like one.

#### I have a standalone ToneDen account *and* I sell tickets on Eventbrite. Can I move my account to Eventbrite?

Standalone accounts can't be moved to Eventbrite. You can set up new Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns for your events from Eventbrite's Marketing tools, and your existing campaigns stay in your Meta ad account.
